Last week you were asked to describe yourself. Not in three words, not in one word; just to describe yourself so that a complete and total stranger would know what to expect from you as a person. Here is the part that was left out…
This week you will be asking for a little help from a significant other, family member, or friend. Yes, this means you will have to talk to them. Here is what you will ask them: Can you describe me as a person; include the good, bad, and ugly. I want you to then write down a few things they might say about you; include the good, bad, and ugly.
The next step is to read or listen intently to what they say and then you will move onto your next self-discovery question…
“What are some things I need to work on about myself that were brought up by my significant other/friend/family member?
Again, be honest with yourself. Some things that will be said may and should hurt because that means that they love you and are being honest. The people closest to you want you to be the best version of yourself and that is what this whole process is about. Because this is a little more in depth and involves relying on a few other people to hopefully do their part, we will make this a two week question.
The next two weeks take the time to really let their words sink in. Take them constructively and write down how they made you feel, why you think they wrote it, and what steps you need to take to fix it.
Happy discovering friends.
